Spirituality refers to a sense of connection with something that’s higher than ourselves. Some people find their spirituality through religion, others find it through mindfulness and meditation. Seeking a meaningful connection is important, and today we’ll show you how!
1. Learn to Forgive
Forgiveness is a powerful catalyst for change and it’s important that we practice it more often. Holding a grudge is not something that hurts the other person, it hurts you and it allows negativity to take hold of your life. It’s easy to withhold forgiveness, yes, but making the effort to forgive is worth it and it’s also a lot more rewarding.
Finding the strength inside yourself is challenging, so you need to surround yourself with spiritual guides, friends who are a positive influence, and mentors who can help you learn to forgive and practice it consistently until it becomes second nature.
2. Practice Honesty
Investing in your true self will allow you to open your body, mind, and spirit to endless possibilities, including the fostering of spirituality. You can’t possibly create a meaningful connection with something bigger than yourself by being your false self.
Your false self is the one that allows you to fulfill expectations, please others, and protect yourself from the world. But you can’t neglect your true self, the version of you that’s real and that you share with the ones you trust. The more you practice honesty in all aspects of life, the more you’ll be able to welcome spirituality.
3. Be More Introspective
You are a complex human being and getting to know yourself is worth doing. It will allow you to make the right decisions to achieve a life of balance. Connecting with your true self is not something you can do if you don’t know what that true self stands for.
There are many things you can do to practice introspection. For example, you can start a journal and write in it when you’re happy, sad, angry, etc., and explore your emotions. You can also take a dosha quiz online to discover your dosha, get a spiritual leader to guide you, meditate with intention, or take personality assessments to gain insight.
Increasing your spirituality can allow you to improve your emotional wellness, which has a direct impact on all aspects of your life. Do these 3 things consistently and you’ll open yourself up!
