Julius Cartwright personifies the essence of a successful visionary, and strategic entrepreneur. His thoughtful approach, ability to actualize, and chart a business course has earned him the respect of his community, industry peers, and emerging business leaders. His thriving ventures, Dreamteam Realty, Inc. and Upscale Select Builders, Inc. both reflect Mr. Cartwright’s ability to seize opportunity, create business synergies, and support passion to excel in his profession and simultaneously, serve his community.
Mr. Cartwright’s entry into the real estate profession began in 1988 with A.J. Lewis & Associates. After two years in the industry, he joined W.E. Jones & Associates, Inc. located in Shaker Heights, Ohio. During his tenure, dedication to excellence and outstanding service earned Mr. Cartwright, among other awards, the honor of “Top Producer and Agent of the Year.” His industry achievements did not go unnoticed, and he was asked to join the Cleveland Association of Real Estate Brokers. There, his leadership skills, industry knowledge, and business acumen landed Mr. Cartwright in the Presidency and Board of Director positions simultaneously. Mr. Cartwright has faithfully served as President of the Cleveland Realtist Association (two years); President of the Ohio Realtist Association (three years); served as 1999 Chairman of the Board of the Ohio Realtist Association (3 years); and NAREB’s National Board of Director’s since 1995. Mr. Cartwright later rose through the ranks within the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), the nation’s oldest minority professional real estate trade association where he served as President 2011-2013. During his tenure, he Released the State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA) Report (2013) and launched the SHIBA Solutions Program educating Women and Advocating for equal housing for all. He has served on the Advisory Board of NAREB and NAR’s Issues Mobilization Committee which oversees financial support in Grants & Contributions to Realtor Local Boards on fighting issues that affect Real Estate Laws, Practices and Legislation. As NAREB President, he also authored and sourced $1.2Billion for the Homeowners Assurance Program to purchase distressed assets to rehab and sell nationwide. Hosted Multicultural Policy Conference in collaboration with the Asian American Real Estate Association and National Association of Hispanics Real Estate Professionals in Washington, DC. The 1990’s decade served as a launching pad for a number of Mr. Cartwright’s business, professional and civic interests. In 1994, he founded the Dreamteam Realtist which was widely recognized as one of Cleveland’s most successful real estate collaborations, and was awarded his real estate broker’s license. At the same time, he published the “American Dream” magazine. Mr. Cartwright established both of his business enterprises, which specialized in marketing, managing and rehabilitating properties throughout the Cleveland area. In 1997, he became a Fannie Mae REO Broker and over the past 17 years he has successfully marketed and sold REOs for a variety of banks and asset management companies.
Today, Julius Cartwright is a licensed real estate broker with over 29 years of experience and President & CEO of Upscale Select Builders which is a Rehab Company. Mr. Cartwright has successfully sold over 1,500 homes and over 500 million in sales volume, and has worked in property management for 19 years managing 750 units throughout his career. Additionally, he has been involved in the acquisition and rehab of over 600 properties for various investors and 250 himself where he bought, rehabbed and sold properties, totaling 850 properties.
Julius Cartwright has worked with the City of Cleveland, and collaborated with various non-profits, developers/builders to acquire over 300 lots through the City of Cleveland as a land acquisition specialist. Today, Dreamteam Realty, Inc. focuses on Traditional Real Estate representing buyers and sellers, New Construction, Relocation and REO Sales. He uses the mythology taught by Real Estate Management Education to be at the forefront of his goals and ambitions. Julius Cartwright has received the Distinguished Designation of CREM (Certified Real Estate Manager) from REMBI (Real Estate Managers Institution). REMBI trains property managers nationwide and is one of seven organizations qualified to certify property managers to manage federal subsidized housing. This is a two-part course and exam consisting of over 100 hours and 2 case studies taught at various Colleges and Universities. Completed a 13-week Commercial Training Co-Sponsored by DDR (Developers Diversified Realty). Real Estate Associates Program (REAP) is designed to help minorities in the field of Commercial Development & Brokerage.
