Courtney Johnson Rose is the Principal Broker of George E. Johnson Properties LLC, an affiliate company of George E. Johnson Development Inc. GEJ Properties is a full service real estate firm specializing in residential and commercial brokerage services co-owned by Courtney Johnson Rose and her father, George E. Johnson.

In her role as Principal Broker, Courtney is responsible for overseeing all operations of the firm, business development and management of all the licensed real estate agents operating under the GEJ Properties brand. Under her leadership, the firm has obtained several institutional clients including Houston Independent School District, FDIC, Mental Health and Mental Retardation Association of Houston, Veterans Administration and Fannie Mae. The firm has also represented Liberty Bank, LoneStar Bank and Chase Bank on the disposition of real estate assets. In addition to their corporate clients the firm works with several small businesses, families and individuals for their real estate needs.

Courtney obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and earned her Master’s in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University, where she is currently an adjunct professor for their commercial real estate certification program. Courtney is also a graduate of the Texas Association of Realtors Leadership Program, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program, the Graduate Realtor Institute and she has obtained the distinguished Certified Commercial and Investment Member (CCIM) designation, making her one of the few real estate professionals in the country to have this designation in commercial real estate.

Courtney was featured in the Houston Business Journal Inaugural Class of their Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders and by the Houston Association of Realtors as one of their “Top 20 under 40 Real Estate Professionals” in the Houston area. She was also chosen by Women’s Magazine as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Houston for 2016.  In 2007, Courtney was featured on the cover of Realtor Magazine as one of their Top 30 under 30 real estate professionals in the country, in a special edition highlighting her success in real estate before the age of 30.  Courtney has also been selected to be on the covers of Who’s Who in Black Houston, Empower Magazine, Real Estate Executive and the Houston Realtor.  Courtney was also featured in Black Enterprise Magazine in 2017.

An active member in the community, Courtney currently serves as the Chair of the Board for the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce and as President of the Texas Association of Real Estate Brokers. Courtney is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Suburban Ft. Bend Chapter and serves as an appointed Commissioner for the Missouri City Planning and Zoning Commission. Courtney has been married to Teeba Rose for 13 years and they have been blessed with two children, Carter and Taylor.
